Governance
Our Policies
EDAT operates under a documented management system designed to meet the requirements of ISO 14065 and ISO 17029. The policies below govern how every engagement is conducted, from the process followed, to how confidentiality and impartiality are managed, to how a client or third party can raise a concern.
01
Commitment to Impartiality
- Identifies and manages self-interest, self-review, familiarity, and intimidation threats
- Keeps engagement and independent review functions strictly separate
- Requires personnel to declare conflicts of interest before work begins
02
Confidentiality Policy
- Protects client and third-party information gathered during every engagement
- Requires written consent before disclosure, with narrow legal exceptions
- Secures documents, data, and records through controlled access systems
03
Complaints & Appeals Policy
- Open to any party — acknowledged in writing within 5 business days
- Investigated by personnel with no involvement in the original decision
- Concludes with a documented, evidence-based outcome and no retaliation
04
Use of Marks Policy
- Governs how EDAT's name, logo, and V/V mark may be referenced
- Requires written authorization before any use, tied to a specific opinion
- Prohibits implying certification, endorsement, or broader scope than assessed
05
Policy on Use of ANAB Accreditation Symbols and Claims of Accredited Status
- Sets the rules for referencing ANAB accreditation once it is granted
- Controls use of the official ANAB Accreditation Symbol and approved artwork
- Requires immediate suspension of claims if accreditation is suspended or withdrawn
