Wetland Biodiversity and Seagrass Monitoring

How EDAT restored coastal ecosystems through smart monitoring

Categories

About the Client

Texas A&M’s Institute for Sustainable Energy & the Environment supports applied research in environmental protection and climate resilience.

Challenge

Degraded coastal wetlands were threatening marine biodiversity and ecosystem services critical to climate resilience along the Gulf Coast.

Solution

EDAT led restoration and monitoring efforts using satellite and drone-based tools to track seagrass health and designed shoreline stabilization strategies.

Outcome

The project restored key seagrass habitats, increased aquatic biodiversity, and created a model for integrating nature-based engineering with scientific monitoring.
